Linda Vista
Overlooking Mission Bay and Mission Valley, Linda Vista is one of the older communities in San Diego. The community is centrally located between Tecolote Canyon, Genesse Avenue, Friars Road and Highway 163. Built in the 1940’s as part of a government project, Linda Vista started out as a housing developement for aircraft workers. Many of the original houses still exist and are rented out to a predominantly Asian population making up a large part of the 45,000 people living in the area.Taken from the Spanish for “beautiful view, Linda Vista’s name is characteristic of the community as it offers many residential views of the city and ocean.
