San Marcos
San Marcos has been called a town in transition, with it’s commercial centers cropping up here and there. A growing incorporated town, San Marcos is located between Carlsbad and Escondido, home to the California State University, San Marcos.
It is interesting to note that San Marcos was once part of a large Mexican rancho. Today, this community has a considerable amount of undeveloped land surrounded by Orchards, boasting a large percentage of agricultural industry in North San Diego County. Other features include 2 country clubs, Lake San Marcos, Twin Oaks Valley, two colleges, golf courses, ranches, beautiful residential homes, and a various assortment of restaurants.
