Scripps Ranch
Founded by newspaperman E.W. Scripps when he came to California in 1890. Originally not impressed with San Diego, Scripps travelled Northward getting more and more excited the more North he went. He settled into todays Scripps Ranch building a home a Ranch called Miramar, named after the Archduke Maximilian’s castle in Trieste, Italy.
Today’s Scripps Ranch is a master-planned community, peacefully offering an abundance of parks and trails. Miramar Lake is a popular gathering place for bike riding, walking, trout fishing, and duck feeding. A new Scripps Ranch high school is wired for the net.
